I went to New Zealand last year with my husband & I have to say they are a lovely people. We were treated with courtesy & respect everywhere we went. There were no taunts of any kind......we will readily go back again & again, finances permitting.

I too am appalled at the actiions of the police officers. As far as the dog was concerned a family member was under threat & that's why it bit one of the officers. They should, at least be ordered to pay any & all vetinary cost involved in the animals recovery.
